An Outsiders' favourite, this club of merry men and women were definitively original and pioneers in their time.
Exploring the RSF’s significant archive has been a labour of love for Mark Hudson (RSF Archivist) and Max Leonard (Isola Press) in order to create this heady coffee table tome.
The RSF lead the way for mountain biking, gravel biking and cycle touring, often with rudimentary equipment. A club quotable spoken by an early member was “I never go for a walk without my bike”. Eccentric and ingenious, this free-thinking bunch quietly went about incredible feats in an extremely humble and typically British way.
This book celebrates their style and their spirit. It is a document not only of the history of cycling off the beaten track, but of British outdoor culture.
