The Snow Peak Insect Shield Jacket is a lightweight hiking jacket with a clever peaked hood, breathable micro-porous fabric and nylon ripstop in all the key zones... and as the name suggests, it's been made using a treatment known as Insect Shield Technology.
Originally developed for the US military, this pioneering technology bonds fabric with an insect repellent called permethrin, keeping those pesky bugs away when you're trying to enjoy the countryside. While most insect repellents need to be reapplied over time, this bonding process means that Insect Shield doesn't fade with use. If you're tired of being hassled by midges and mosquitoes when you're out in the wilderness, then this jacket will come in handy.
